As a small company that prides itself on delivering gifts that bring joy, we're incredibly disappointed to announce that some of our customers are experiencing delays on their orders over the Christmas period, and we want to extend our sincerest apologies to anyone affected.
We have tried our very best over the last week to mitigate any delays caused by nationwide strikes - particularly within The Royal Mail* - but sadly, much of the situation is out of our control, and some of your orders may reach you later than we want them to.
*The Royal Mail are currently dealing with an extremely large backlog of mail in their sorting offices due to ongoing industrial action. This, combined with increased Christmas mail-order volumes means that most orders sent with Royal Mail standard services are now taking up to 10 working days to reach their destination, after dispatch.
As a result of these delays, we decided last week to remove Royal Mail as a postage option. We switched deliveries to subsidised DPD (for each order we paid 40% of the cost of the DPD courier ourselves) to hopefully let our customers receive goods in time for Christmas.
However, because of the Royal Mail industrial action, DPD are now experiencing a much higher volume of parcels than usual, and are also experiencing significant delays.
As long as you have had your dispatch email with the tracking, we can assure you the parcel is definitely on the way, though it may take a day or two longer to reach you than we expected.
Again, please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience this causes. As a small company, we value every single order that comes through our door, and we really do appreciate your continued support during this difficult time.
Please contact us at email@example.com if you require any further information.
